Category Codes

Category codes are the values that appear in drop-down boxes for various components within the application. Category codes are used to group similar goods or services together for the purpose of structuring pricing, categorizing cores, and sales and inventory tracking and reporting.

For example to use Category Codes to structure prices, one Category Code can be established for Brake Pads and another for Brake Shoes. This would allow one price discount to be offered for Brake Pads and another price discount to be offered for Brake Shoes.

Access the Category Codes Table:

TOOLS / SYSTEM TABLES / CATEGORY CODES

• Code: Enter an alphanumeric code up to 3 characters long.
• Description: Enter an alphanumeric description up to 25 characters long for the code entered above. This Description will be displayed in the applicable drop-down boxes within the application.
• Click the Save icon on the tool bar to save the information.
• Click the Delete icon on the tool bar to delete an existing Category Code.
• Note: Once a Category Code and Description is saved, only the Description can be edited.
