NSP to INV POS Mapping
NSP to INV POS Mapping is a utility where users can map where information from Non-stocked pricing goes when items are sold in inventory.
In Tools/System Setup/POS Settings/Details (on the General tab) there are flags that allow users to manipulate parts that are sold at Point Of Sale. Under NonStock Add Options, there are 2 choices:
- Parts From Catalog: Part Currently in NSP File
- Parts Manually Entered: Parts Currently in NSP File. At Point Of Sale, if a user enters a part to a ticket through the cataloging or manually enters a part and the part already exists in the Non-Stocked file, one of the choices is to move the part to inventory.
Access the NSP to INV POS Mapping utility by clicking on
File | Inventory Maintenance | NSP to INV POS Mapping
Add Mapping: Click Add Mapping to add a new mapped item.
Remove Mapping: Click Remove Mapping to remove existing mappings from the list.
OK: Click OK to save changes.
For example, when reviewing inventory and non-stocked pricing, there is a description field. The user would click Add Mapping. Under Destination Field, choose Description. This is the Description field in the Inventory record. Under Source Field, choose Description. This is the Description field in the NSP record.
If a part is sold, the information in the Description field will be moved from the field in NSP to the field in INV. If the field is not mapped and the logic is set to move the information to the Inventory Record, the information that is not mapped will be dropped from the system.
