POS Button Setup

 

 

 

 

Overview

 

 

The system contains a set of pre-defined buttons that are displayed on the Point of Sale screen. The pre-defined set of buttons can be modified to meet a users needs or a completely new set of buttons can be created.

 

A separate set of buttons are defined for each of the following areas on the Point of Sale screen:

 

 

In order for the defined set of buttons to be displayed on the Point of Sale screen, the workstation must be configured to access the applicable set of buttons.

 

 

 

 

Steps: POS Button Setup

 

 

  1. Setup the POS Buttons by clicking on:

Tools | System Setup | POS Button Setup

 

  1. The POS Button Setup screen allows the user to create a new set of POS buttons or edit / delete an existing set of POS buttons.

    1. Click New Group to create a new set of POS buttons.

      1. Enter a unique name to identify the set of POS buttons and click OK.

    2. Click Edit Group to modify an existing set of POS buttons.

    3. Click Delete Group to delete an existing set of POS buttons.

 

  1. Define a set of buttons for each area of the POS screen: Main, Transaction, Customer, Vehicle, Detail.

    1. Double click on the button name or highlight the button name and use the arrow buttons to add or remove a button.

 

  1. Once a set of buttons is defined for a POS screen area, click Next to create the set of buttons for the next screen area.

 

  1. Click the Save button when all areas of the POS screen have a set of POS buttons defined.

 

  1. Once all areas of the POS screen have a set of POS buttons defined, click Save or Done to return to the POS Button Setup Screen.

    1. Click the Save button to return to the POS Button Setup screen and automatically save all changes.

    2. Click the Done button to return to the POS Button Setup screen. If changes were made, the following question will appear:

You have not SAVED this page yet. Would you like to SAVE the changes before you move on?

      1. Click Yes to save changes.

      2. Click No to NOT save any changes made.

 

  1. The user will need to select this set of POS buttons for the workstation and then re-login before the changes will take effect.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Steps: Setup Workstation

 

 

  1. Configure the Workstation by clicking on:

Tools | System Setup | Workstations

 

  1. On the General tab, select the appropriate set of POS buttons from the POS Buttons Setup Group Name drop down box. (Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to browse the available selections.)

 

  1. The user will need to re-login before the changes will take effect.
