In order to control the size of the reason code table and pop-up box value list, reason code values that are no longer valid can be permanently removed from the table and pop-up box value list. Reason code values can also remain in the table, but be hidden in the pop-up box value list. In addition, the application enables the counterman to include return reason information without adding additional reasons code values to the table and pop-up box value list.
Permanently remove reason code values from the table and pop-up box value list.
Click on TOOLS | SYSTEM TABLES | and select the applicable table
Enter the reason code to remove (Note: if already in the table, use the arrow keys on the tool bar to display the reason code to remove)
Click the Delete current item icon from the tool bar
Select Yes to System prompt Are You Sure You Want To Delete This Record?
System will confirm the record (reason code) has been deleted
Setting the Enabled field to No will leave the reason code in the table, but remove it from the pop-up box value list.
This is often used to eliminate the counterman from creating new reasons by setting Enabled to NO for the reason code *Other. As a result the counterman is forced to select a reason from the pop-up box value list.
Enable the counterman to enter reason code information without adding additional reason code values to the table and pop-up box value list.
Enter a new reason called Other Reason (no * prefix) in the Reason field
Set Enabled field to Yes
Enter the text Enter New Reason in the Addl Info Prompt field
Set Addl Info Format field to Text
