Adding a Vehicle for a New Customer

 

 

Overview

 

When a customer and vehicle are each added to a ticket at Point of Sale, that are saved together for future reporting purposes and provide the added convenience of being linked together when either is recalled.

 

 

Steps: Adding a Vehicle for a New Customer

 

  1. At the Point of Sale screen, when a new customer is added, the system will display the following message: No matching vehicles for this customer.

 

  1. Click the Add New Vehicle button to add a vehicle and have it linked to this customer.

    1. Vehicle Year screen

    2. Vehicle Makes screen

    3. Vehicle Models screen

    4. Vehicle Engines screen (if applicable)

    5. Vehicle Information screen – enter mileage, license number, color, etc.

 

  1. Once the ticket is saved, the customer displayed in the Customer Information box will be linked to the vehicle displayed in the Vehicle Information box. As a result of linking vehicles with customers, whenever a customer is retrieved, all vehicles brought in by that customer will appear in the vehicle list. Once an existing customer is retrieved at Point of Sale, their linked vehicle can be selected or an additional vehicle can be added.

    1. Vehicle List button: select a previously linked vehicle from the vehicle list.

    2. Retrieve button: select a previously linked vehicle from the vehicle list.

    3. Add New Vehicle button: add a vehicle and have it linked to this customer.

 

  1. To modify or delete the vehicle displayed in the Vehicle Information box, click on the Vehicle Information box. This will allow changes to be made to the Vehicle Information Screen, including the ability to fill in any fields that were left blank during the original vehicle selection. The ticket must be saved for any modifications to be applied. Note: a vehicle can also be modified by editing some fields on the vehicle record.

 

    1. Go Back button: return to Point of Sale screen

    2. Edit button: access the Vehicle Information screen

      1. Make applicable changes and click OK.

      2. Note: The Vehicle field is the only field that cannot be changed.

    3. Retrieve button: select a previously linked vehicle from the vehicle list

    4. Delete button: removes vehicle

      1. Once vehicle has been deleted, click on empty Vehicle Information box

        1. Add New Vehicle button: add a vehicle and have it linked to this customer

        2. Retrieve button: select a previously linked vehicle from the vehicle list
